About Us
The Southern California sun and the cool breezes blowing off the Pacific Ocean make for a wonderfully temperate climate - perfect for raising horses. The Arnolds chose the Golden State to pursue their dream of breeding and raising America's oldest native horse breed, the Morgan Horse. In honor of their first Morgan, Fairfield Festival, they chose a name for their farm. Thus began the more than three decade long story of Festival Morgans. Over the past 34 years their love affair with this wonderful breed has grown and flourished. In 1981 they acquired a stallion bred by the famous Saddleback Farm in New York. Saddleback Senator crossed well with their broodmares, producing many outstanding horses for Festival Morgans. Using the blood of some of the finest families of the Morgan world they have produced World Champions such as Festival Pride N Joy, Festival Calypso and Festival Rock N Roll. In 1985 they purchased Sunnyvale Joy who was in foal to UVM Promise. The resulting foal went on to win Reserve World Champion Mare in 1987 and World Champion Mare in 1988 for her new owner Adrianne Wailes. In 1995 the fine show mare, Festival Fan Dancer, foaled a promising colt named Festival Calypso. This second generation Festival colt was born to grace the show ring. From the beginning he was destined for great things. Six Grand National and Seven World Championship titles later, Festival Calypso continues to fulfill that promise. Under the direction of Ann and Frank Miller, Festival Morgans continues to produce and show Morgans who exhibit the characteristics that made the Morgan Horse famous. Wonderful dispositions, kind, willing to do all that is asked of them and graced with the beauty and attitude that define the Morgan breed. From the main ring in Oklahoma City to the bridle paths of Southern California, from the mountains of the Sierra Nevadas to Virginia, Festival bred Morgans serve as ambassadors of the Morgan breed.
